Party Time!

POP! went the champagne…the party had begun!
Our Pearl Showroom was the location for the exclusive event, ‘Passion for Pearls‘,  in aid of the AMAR International Charitable Foundation.

Throughout the course of the evening our in-house Pearl Specialist, Chrissie Douglas, took the group on a grand tour of pearls, guiding everyone through the history of pearls, how and where they are made, and the vast variety of shapes and colours they come in.

We looked at several ‘Pearl Celebrities’ such as La Peregrina (once owned by Elizabeth Taylor) and the Hanoverian Pearls (owned by England), as well as looking at how to choose the perfect pearl for you.
Having learnt about the vast array of pearls Chrissie then explained how to tell the difference between a real pearl, a cultured pearl and an artificial ‘bead’.

Throughout the evening we all gained several pearls of wisdom!…and a few pearl treats too…like the parting gift which was a freshwater pearl studs on 18ct yellow gold posts!

We were proud to support AMAR and would like to share with you why we believe in this charity. Having been an established charity for well over 20 years, AMAR provides healthcare, education, training and humanitarian assistance to populations and communities affected by conflict and civil disorder. With several locations throughout the Middle East they are actively living out their company slogan ‘Rebuilding Lives’ a mission that is particularly pertinent in the current middle eastern situation.

A few months ago we were delighted to hear that AMAR won the 2014 Charity Award….Congratulations AMAR!
